World Memory Championship 2025 Concludes in Navi Mumbai
223 participants from seven countries compete; national and world records set
Navi Mumbai: The World Memory Championship 2025 concluded in Navi Mumbai this week, with 20-year-old Vishwa Rajkumar from Puducherry securing the top position. Rajkumar finished with 5,582 championship points and received Rs 1 lakh in prize money.
He also set a new national record in the Hour Cards event by memorising 22 decks of cards within the allotted time.
Shohruh Baxtiyorov of Uzbekistan finished second with 4,703 points, and Nicolas Pommies of France secured third place with 4,415 points.
A total of 223 athletes from India, Austria, Germany, Philippines, Italy, France and Uzbekistan participated in the three-day event, competing across 10 memory disciplines testing rapid recall, visual memory and long-duration concentration.
In the senior category, Antje Hubacz of Germany set a new world record by memorising 207 images in five minutes during the Images discipline.
The championship was organised by Brain Infinite and conducted under the authority of the Memory Sports Federation of India (MSFI). The event was approved by the International Association of Memory, Germany.
The Chief Arbiter for the championship was Corinna Draschl from Austria.
The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was K. V. Subramaniam, President of Reliance Life Science, who presented awards and felicitated the athletes.
The World Memory Championship is considered a leading global platform for cognitive sports and continues to see growing representation and competitive performance from India.
